Consider Diversity During Our Director Nomination Process

Although we have a statutory obligation to promote diversity and inclusion, we truly embrace diversity across all levels of our business and consider it a business imperative. We encourage you to help us in this effort. Soon you will receive a notice regarding the director nomination and election process. Please consider diversity when you identify worthy nominees for member and independent directorships.

We recognize that by harnessing the power of our collective similarities and differences, FHLBank is better able to deliver on our mission of making a difference by helping our members build their communities.

Director Election Timing

On June 9, 2016, FHLBank received notification from its regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, that it has completed the annual designation of directorships for the FHLBanks. As part of that designation, FHLBank’s board will expand to 18 directors beginning January 1, 2017, due to the addition of one independent directorship. In order to ensure FHLBank has sufficient opportunity to identify potential independent director candidates, and to give interested candidates time to submit independent director applications, FHLBank has adjusted the timing of the 2016 director election from what was previously communicated.

The nomination period for both member and independent directorships is now expected to begin on August 8, 2016, and is expected to close on September 12, 2016. Thereafter, the director election will take place from November 4, 2016, through December 7, 2016.
