General District Trends Economic Update Secondary Market

Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth among Tenth District* states was positive, but the same as or down from year-end (YE) 2018. Only Colorado outpaced the U.S. growth rate by YE 2019.

At 3.5% real GDP growth in 2019, Colorado, the fastest growing state in the district and fifth fastest in the U.S. (based on 2019 growth), remains a hotbed of both young, talented professionals and energy production. As a result, Colorado is seeing ongoing, above-nationwide-average contributions from the professional, scientific and tech. services sectors, as well as information and mining, quarrying, and oil & gas extraction sectors.
