First State Bank
Plainville, Kansas
Many teens are aware of the Gabby Petito case but may not understand what can be learned from the tragedy. The First State Bank of Plainville will use their $500 to host a teen dating violence prevention education program for local middle and high school students through Jana’s Campaign. This program is dedicated to helping schools and youth organizations reduce gender and relationship violence by promoting healthy relationship behaviors and ultimately create a culture of strong respect among adolescents.

Grant County Bank
Ulysses, Kansas
Ulysses, a city of 6,000, has a primary care hospital, but lacks specialized services. This means residents need to travel to Garden City for care. A nonprofit organization, Southwest Health Transport, was formed to provide transportation to those who need it Garden City’s regional medical center. A 12-passenger bus has been acquired and will be delivered in December. Grant County Bank will use the #500forGood funds to provide gasoline and drivers for the bus to help ease the burden on family, friends and neighbors in the community.
 

Heartland Credit Union
Hutchinson, Kansas
Strengthening financial literacy in their credit union membership and community is a top priority for Heartland Credit Union. With their $500, HCU will buy copies of the book entitled "The Berenstain Bears' Trouble with Money,” geared to students in kindergarten through second grade. They plan to visit classrooms, read the book with students, conduct a reinforcing activity and then donate the book to the school library. The funds will allow HCU to buy enough books to visit dozens of elementary schools in the communities of Hutchinson, Haven, Newton and Wichita.

Mid-America Bank 
Baldwin City, Kansas
The Baldwin Education Foundation started a program four years ago called Cares to help local kids in need of basic toiletries and food. The program was created after school counselors identified an increasing need for these items. One example shared was a boy who came into the junior high school office crying because he was being picked on for having body odor. The counselor determined he didn't have deodorant or soap to use after gym class. Mid-America Bank will support this program with their $500.

Solutions North Bank 
Stockton, Kansas
The local Stockton food pantry recently moved to a new location. Some in the community didn’t know about the move and thought the pantry had closed its doors permanently. With many community members at or below the poverty level, this needed resource is essential to Stockton. Solutions North will use their #500forGood funds to help stock the shelves for local residents in need.
